About Us
The Marfan
Association Victoria is a volunteer, non-profit organisation. Support
through membership in the Association will build and maintain a stronger
association and future for those affected by Marfan Syndrome.
Marfan Association Victoria, Inc.
A Marfan Support Group was initially formed in 1989 by a group of volunteers either affected by or interested in
the Marfan syndrome. The Marfan Association Victoria Incorporated was established in 1997.
The main goals of the association are:
- To provide accurate and timely information about Marfan syndrome to those affected by this
genetic disorder, their families, friends, health professionals, and other interested people
- To provide support and opportunities to share experiences and improve medical care for
those affected
- To promote Marfan awareness within the community
- To support and foster research on the Marfan syndrome
Membership
Ordinary membership of the Marfan Association Victoria, Inc. requires an annual fee which entitles members to
nominate for committee and vote. Members receive newsletters and notification of Marfan activities and special information days. For membership forms or further
information, please contact the Association.
